ZOO 2.0

The new release of ZOO 2.0 by yootheme.com

This is a great step forward by this company based in Germany they make extensions, components and templates for Joomla. This new release has a great potential to be one of the most advanced pieces of software for Joomla ever made. This provides an out-of-the box integrated solution featuring rich content forms for items articles with additional fields for article images, videos, image galleries and attachments, nested-level categories, tags, comments, a system to extend the item base form with additional fields. If you were to compare this to other CCK for Joomla it is up there with K2 but a little different.

Zoo helps you focus on creating a production style format for publishing

In other words what its strong point is if you wanted a format for publishing say,

For Realty site or a Directory with made with Zoo, you can create a standard field style so time and time again for the entries. All the fields are in place and titled and ready for your content so it is ready to place it in a layout that is standardized and view in any style and format that you create.

This allows a solution for people that want a component custom made for their needs.

People that are interested in this should visit their site for more detailed information.

K2 is a CCK

K2 is a content construction component.

" When I started working with the first Beta of K2. After i got the idea of what it could do.....WOW, what a great step forward this will be for all joomla users.
I can see how you can ski down a mountain of content adding pictures and galleries of photos as well as video content as you go COOL'.............
One of the things people do with joomla is add extra parts you have to install and configure.

"When you install K2 its as easy as skiing. One install and your up and running with comments and lets you create custom content types (items) for your Joomla! website. With K2, you can transform your Joomla! website to a news site with author blogs, product catalogs, work portfolio, directory listing, event listing and more, all this bundled under one component!"

Also what makes it great is that other companies are supporting this project and making other modules and components compatible with K2

Skiing can be fun, take a ride with K2.........

Here is a gallery that i used the Simple Image Gallery Pro (plugin)

it shows some of the extra areas you can use data from your articles on the sidebars you users to find content. In this way K2 provides an out-of-the box integrated solution featuring rich content forms for items (think of Joomla! articles with additional fields for article images, videos, image galleries and attachments), nested-level categories, tags, comments, a system to extend the item base form with additional fields (similar to CCK for those acquainted with Drupal), a powerful plugin API to extend item, category and user forms, ACL, frontend editing, sub-templates and a lot more!

Using K2, you can transform your Joomla! website to a news/magazine site with author blogs, product catalogs, work portfolio, knowledge base, download/document manager, directory listing, event listing and more, all this bundled under one package! Since K2 is extensible with additional fields to its base item form, you can easily create category-specific content types, e.g. article, blog post, product page, directory listing.

Projectfork

powerpack

We would like to praise the people at joomlapraise.com

for their work on Projectfor This is a useful component that can make a Joomla site into a CRM system, an intranet or a site to communicate with other members of the web site who are developing the site or working as a sales force.

What ever way you see it Projectfork. it has matured and developed into a great tool for team members working together.

Here are some features :

Projects play a central role in Projectfork. Everything you do is directly related to a project and most features are not accessible if you do not have a project. So the first thing you probably want to do after installing Projectfork is to create a project. Once you have created a project, or once you are a member of a project, you can select it as your current workspace. A workspace defines your current focus or area of activity, meaning that everything you do right now will be associated with the project you have selected as workspace. For example, tasks that you create are automatically connected to the workspace you have selected. And also you will only see tasks of the workspace you have selected. Your current workspace is reflected by the breadcrumbs and the workspace select-list on top of the page.

Projectfork Themes

The PowerPack comes with 2 great themes for the launch: Project & Goggles. A Projectfork theme totally changes the appearance of Projectfork and we've got tons of great designs to come!

By far my favorite new extension, Activity Stream records all activity in Projectfork and displays it in a panel on the control panel. I've begged Tobias for at least a year for this one and I'm extremely pleased with the outcome. The activities are presented in an unordered list in the default theme, but we've dressed them up in the Project & Goggles themes.

Community Builder Avatar does the same: it pulls your CB avatar and changes all profile links to redirect to CB.
